Bells Rapids
Overview
You and your dog must
be fit and sure-footed to do this walk
Note: During summer this is an early morning walk.
A walk bridge spanning the Swan River over the white-water rapids, make this an exciting starting and finishing point for the spectacular 2.5km river walk. This site is noted for its fantastic vantage points for the Avon decent. Bells rapids is a walk full of adventure but is challenging, requiring a good fitness level as most of this spectacular walk is on and over rocks close to the water’s edge. You need to have sturdy walking shoes for this trail so you and your dog can enjoy the scenic views of Bells Rapids, the countryside, and coastal plains.
Bells rapids walk will supply oodles of mental stimulation for your best buddy and that is why we call this guided walk a “sniffari”.
Top that off with the visual splenda of flora and fauna, with dominant trees being Wandoo and Flooded gums, Swamp Paperbark and Swamp Sheoak. Keep your eyes open for Fuchsia Grevillia and Little Pied Cormorants.
The walk loops back to the majestic bridge spanning the Swan River. The last 100 meters is up a steep hill that has a pebbly gravel surface, so it can be challenging and loose under foot on the walk down and the walk back-up the hill at the end of your walk. Bernie is patiently waiting for all tired paws to return.
We say fare-well as Bernie carefully winds back down through the Swan Valley onto our next stop “Bailey Brewing Co”, where we will treat you to a well-deserved beer, wine or tea /coffee with a salivating lunch.
This is what Bailey Brewing Co say 🙂
IT’S PRETTY SIMPLE, REALLY.
WE’RE A BREWERY IN THE SWAN VALLEY.
WE SERVE BEER THAT WE BREW, LOCAL WINE FROM OUR MATES, AND FOOD THAT’S ALWAYS TASTY.
After a big walk and a fantastic lunch, back on Bernie as we make our way down the scenic drive to All Saints Church in Henley Brook, the oldest church in Western Australia. Bernie will stop here for 30 minutes, enough time to stretch the paws, soak up the views of the Swan River and learn about the significance of this church.
What a fantastic day you both have shared. Everyone is safely sitting, with most paws drifting in and out of sleep as we meander through the Swan Valley, finding our way home.

Overview
Easy walk
Note: During summer this is an early morning walk.
Bernie the pooch perfect Bus has everyone safely seated and today we are heading east up the hills towards Kalamunda. The countryside looks very inviting, and you find yourself sinking into your seat with your best friend beside you. “Bliss”!
Kalamunda Farmers Market is our first stop. This is a farmers, producers and artisan, gourmet food market, where you will have the opportunity to talk to the farmers, producers, and artisan food makers about their enormous array of produce, including tasting the samples on offer that are bursting with flavour and nutrition. We have allowed one hour to enjoy the market.
Jorgensen Park is our second stop, situated in the hills of Kalamunda. Jorgensen Park has been a very tightly kept secret by the locals, being a favourite spot for exercising their dogs, with all the ingredients for a fantastic tail wagging time. This 2.7km loop trail is easy to navigate and is located on the old unused Kalamunda Golf Course. This walk offers much history, stunning valley views and hidden gems, with the old clubhouse as the starting and finishing point.
The rarity of this walk is on some of the longer unfenced fairways you can have your dog off-lead with plenty of room to run.
Then with all paws and tongues hanging out we are back onboard Bernie who will safely take us to the unique Mundaring Weir Hotel. The Hotel has a rich history and was built to accommodate the rush of visitors viewing the construction of the Mundaring Weir. What a treat, and lunch always taste better when someone else pays :)}}} that’s right, lunch is on us!!
After lunch and as always Bernie has us safely belted in and off we go for a drive through the spectacular Mundaring Weir area. It doesn’t matter what time of year; the Mundaring Weir is always “bucker list” stuff!
Our next stop is Bernie’s personal pick, Raeburn Orchard. This orchard has been in operation in the Perth hills for over 70 years. Growers of apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, plums, persimmons, and apricots, which are breathtaking when in blossom. The owners will allow you to walk through their orchard with your dog, but you MUST respect the Orchard rules.
We encourage all our visitors to make the most of their time on the property.
We do ask that all our visitors treat the trees with respect.
Damaged branches mean recovery rather than production in the following year.
